Hello!

I’m Julie, nice to meet you.

I’m an Author, Artist and a Fashion Upcycler.

My writing career started more than 18 years ago, and my work appears in a wide variety of publications in New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria, as well as the International Poetry Anthology and an anthology with the Fellowship of Australian Writers Queensland.

I published my first book in October 2015; ‘Pushing Shadows’ is collection of poetry, about life, loss and love. I’m working on another book about my experiences as a FIFO (fly in fly out) wife.

I wrote a regular column What’s on Your Bedside Table for the Victorian publication Positive Words.

I appeared at the Brisbane Writers Festival 2015.

This year, I started a writers group with my friend Beth,  Wild Women Writers, which we run on the Sunshine Coast.

I’m also an Artist, working in Pastel; original artwork appears on the front cover of my book, in a local gallery and private homes.

I have a passion for upcycling clothes-by adding a creative flair to ordinary pieces, I love making them unique and unusual.
